Dec. 06. Just like the last news on the homepage, been a while. But that does not mean that things have been slowing down. We have the new soulBay game up and running, and we will be closing that soon for new updates. Look forward to a new soulBay game starting early in Janurary. Will include all new features, and lots more options for game play. We have also made lots of updates to the forums, you can read about them all right here. I have also gone through the rest of the website and tucked in some corners. Clean up some stuff, try to get it a bit more useful. The podcast should be starting back up here in a couple months, so I am getting ready for that as well. Keep tuned for more updates, with school calming down for some weeks I hope to really tidy everything up.
Jun. 07. Been a while since I have had news worthy of the homepage. But we have made some massive changes to the den all at once. First the forums are on a new server, so even if the site is down you should still be able to access the forums. On top of that the forums now have a domain dedicated just to themselves. You can now visit the forums at www.bbdforum.com. In addition we have a new feature added on to the forums. This feature is called the "denOS". The denOS is a feature that is tied into your account here. It is a web based environment where you can have your files saved, your settings, a few community features like the bulletin board, and other things. You should give it a shot, it might be just the ticket if you find yourself working at a lot of different computers and are unable to have personal settings on them. If you have any questions about this please post a topic in the questions and suggestions board. You will have to just poke around and ask questions because I don't really have it documented yet.
Feb. 18. We have said good bye to a BBD legacy. The BBD Counter Strike Source server is no longer running. Due to lack of funds and time we have decided to change the focus of the site slightly. This will allow us to put more time and effort into functions of the Den that people do use. With this change you will note that the forums have had a slight restructure. They have changed from being super gaming focused to being more technology in general focused with gaming as a sub field of technology. We are going to continue adding new features to the site, and we still plan to keep a somewhat gaming focus. For example we plan to continue to run our Armagetron Advanced Server. You can visit that page for downloading and instructions to connect to our server. If you have any suggestions for new features you would like on the site please post them in the Recommendations Board.
Jan. 15. Well we have a new colour scheme, and have done some slight design changes....The forums also have a new fancy look. Although if you wish to use the previous theme/colours you can go into your control panel and change your theme selection from default to BigBudDen-Dark. We now have a section of articles written by select users. These articles will be more detailed than most post. And while only certain people can post new articles everyone can reply to them with there comments/thoughts. Just click "read more" at the end of the article blurb. Or visit the new board Articles. Since I moved a bunch of stuff around on the homepage I also archived a ton of news that was posted on the homepage. You can access older site news via the link at the bottom of the page. But like always the news posted here is rare and only about complete site wide changes. The news board on the forums is by far the best source for news. There has not been a lot of massive site news here lately but I ensure you the news forum has been active with lots of minor changes. Enjoy and make sure to let us know what you think of the new features and design. You can post any comments or suggestions you have about features or site/forum design in the Questions and Recommendations Board.
Nov. 04. Made some minor changes to the site. Older news will now be located on another page, you can access the page by clicking the link at the bottom of the News Blob. Also we have updated our advertising system. It will be easier to track views, clicks, and add new advertisers. But as always the ads will not become intrusive or difficult to deal with in your surfing. One main goal is to never have popups, or other annoying advertising methods. I have also used this chance to update the poll. So feel free to vote on your favorite beer.
Oct. 23. I took some extra time I had this weekend to refresh the look of the website a bit. Mostly minor changes but the website should be easier to use, and have a bit cleaner/sharper look. Please post any comments or suggestions on how the website is laid out in the suggestions board. Also please let me know if there is anything not on the website that you would like to see. Like always we are trying to improve our site so it is more useful to you.
Oct. 06. Couple new features that are accessible from the main site. First you can now upload files for web access. There is a limit of 2MB for files to be uploaded via the web interface. Also please do not upload any copyrighted material. Files uploaded will be monitored carefully and copyrighted material will be removed. Another new feature is the "paste bin". This will allow you to paste large amounts of text. After submitting the text you will get a link. This link will allow you and others to access this text. This makes it easier to send large amounts of text/code to people via IM or IRC or other internet chat methods. Hope you enjoy the enhancements....they will always keep coming.
Oct. 01. There have been lots of updates recently. For example we now have an armagetron server, you can read about that here. But what really made me want to post on the homepage is we now offer a podcast. You can subscribe and download episodes by clicking the new link on the left side bar. Or if your lazy you can simply click here. This podcast will contain mostly unique and interesting jazz music. But you can read more about what it is about on the podcast page.
Aug. 07. Here at big bud we are always looking to how we can support and help people the best. Today I am pleased to bring you a amateur documentary about some fools in south America. For more detailed information on this video check out this forum post. Here are the links to download the video:
Aug. 05. We have changed our hosting service again. We will be mirroring more stuff, and I wanted a more reliable service. We have 10x the storage and 10x the monthly transfer on this new service. We have so much transfer and space I am letting anyone upload files into ftp://ftp.bigbudden.com/incoming. If you have a file you want to share with the world but don't want to deal with signing up for hosting you can put it there. No warez, porn, or anything illegal. I can and will delete things as I please. If this service gets abused I will remove it, but I figured a few fools may really like it. I have taken this change to do a little spring cleaning around the site so you may notice a few small changes. If you find anything that used to work but does not now make a post in the forums. Thank you and stay tuned for more updates.
Jul. 06. We have changed our webhosting service to one with more space and a faster speed. During this move we have added more sub domains. We have also added a poll to the homepage. You can read more about this move, and hear about new features on the following thread. Please make a post here if you find any previous features on the sight not working.
Jun. 16. I know it has not been long since our last news update. But we now have a teamspeak server, and it is so cool that I just had to tell you guys. The server address is at 'ts.acidchat.net'. For detailed instructions on setting it up look at this thread: TeamSpeak server instructions / details. It is being hosted by www.acidchat.net, which is an IRC network I own. Please feel free to use, and enjoy the new service.
Jun. 14. Now that we are out of some of the testing phases, we are gearing up the site/server for long term running. We have raised our slots from 12 to 16. And we now have a very diverse and fun map selection running, and it is always growing. Also we have most of our scripts/settings nailed down, and running perfect. Only thing that is still having some growing pains is the bank, so expect to see some changes in relation ship to that. But otherwise come, and enjoy the new features.
May. 24. We are the new proud owners of www.bigbudden.com. Since the server/forum seems to be working well this was the next logical step. I was mostly waiting for the forum to kick off, and now it has. So enjoy the less typing. You can access this page at http://www.bigbudden.com or you can get the forum from http://forum.bigbudden.com . Enjoy
May. 21. Well we now have the forum up and running 100%. On the forum you may notice a news area. There you can find the most up to date information going on with the server. Post here will be more major, and fewer between news items concerning the server. The biggest news is we also have upgraded to a 66 Tick connection. So hopefully there wont be any lag issues out there :-).
May. 20.
After a few weeks of the server/clan being up and running in full. We are proud to announce the launch of
our the "Green Sticky Flowers Clan" website. Here you can find news and updates concerning the server,
as well as access to the forums and the ability to contact the admins of the server.
